Seren Roberts Memorial Tournament and Fundraising Dinner  2011

 

June 2011, saw the 1st Seren Roberts Memorial Tournament held by Cardiff and Newport SANDS at Cottrell Park Golf Club, Near Cardiff. The event proved a huge success with over £4,000 raised for our charity.

 

 

Over 40 Golfers Participated in the golf tournament with the prize winners as follows:-

Team Winner – Ken Thomas, John Terry, Pete Sulley, Phillip Baxter

Nearest the Pin (Sponsored by General Communication) –  Ian Hampson

Longest Drive (Sponsored by thesuncareshop.com) –  Neil Whelpton

 

 

The evening event included a raffle and charity auction, with some fantastic prizes available.

 

Amongst some of the items which went under the hammer was a signed Manchester United Football, which sold for £260, a signed Wales Rugby Union shirt (sold for £250), and a limited edition print of the 18th Hole twenty-ten course at the Celtic Manor, signed by Colin Montgomery and the artist Graeme Baxter (sold for £160).
