We are currently after knitters to knit us tiny baby clothes for UHW and the Royal Gwent.

We have already had a few items knitted for us, so a big Thank you for them. So far we have managed to supply UHW and the Royal Gwent with some items but they are always in constant need.

We also have a lovely lady, Anne Cheshire, knitting us hundreds of teddies to go into our memory boxes that we supply to UHW and the Royal Gwent. Two teddies go in each box, one to stay with the baby and one for the parents to have, if  they so want.

Cardiff and Newport SANDS is a SANDS support group started in 2006.

SANDS, Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society, supports parents and families through the experience of losing a baby. They are a national charity (registration 299679). There is a main office and groups all over the country who are able to offer a variety of services to families who need support.

SANDS is here to help when your baby dies, during your pregnancy or around the time of birth. Whether you are the mother or father, family or friend, SANDS offers the kind of support that you may want as you come to terms with what has happened.

At Cardiff and Newport SANDS, we hold monthly support meetings and help fund support packs and memory boxes for bereaved parents at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, and the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport. We have also successfully funded a Bereavement Suite at UHW, and aim to replicate this at the Royal Gwent Hospital. We are also currently helping to design and are part funding a new baby memorial in Thornhill Cemetery, Cardiff.

SEREN ROBERTS MEMORIAL TROPHY

This years Charity golf fundraising event takes place at Peterstone Lakes Golf Club on 29th June 2012.

This will be out main fundraising event of the year and everyone is welcome to attend.  Full details of the golf competition and entry fees is available here

Non golfers are also most welcome to join us for the 2 course fundraising/presentation  dinner which will include the charity auction and raffle.
